The Kick-off-Meeting of the project "Green Waters Adventure" (GWA)  was succesfully held  in Tirana, at the Eurostar Hotel, on 21 October 2022.

The meeting was an occasion for project partners to meet and jointly present the project to the public, highlighting the common commitment into develping water sport tourism in the Adriatic Sea. Through GWA project partners will infact address the valorization of areas abundant in lakes, rivers, lagoons and salinas through the development of sport/adventure tourism while highlighting the environmental and cultural assets as well as their strategic economic potential. By means of a common strategy, they will boost cooperation and networing between Italy, Albania and Montenegro aimed at uniting participating territories under a unique, cross-border brand.

Partners reviewed and discussed the activities that will need to be implemented to achieve the GWA goals, which include, for the forthcoming months a territorial research and analysis aimed at collecting knowledge about “water cities” and their context by using ICT with the goal to create a smart cross-border community. the project will, to this end, mapp the environmental and sportive/adventure local offer in the territories involved, and elaborate a related catalogue lso available through a Technical-Cultural and Geographic Information System platform. 

This initial phase of the proejct will later lead to creating a cross-border network for a common natural and cultural sport/adventure tourist offer, under a united and coordinate brand identity and through the development thematic itineraries across the cooperation area.
