Overview

Guardialfiera (Campobasso, Italy), Parco Letterario® "Francesco Jovine", June 16.

The GWA "Seminar with the stakeholders" was implemented by the Municipality of  Castel San Vincenzo, in collaboration with the projec tLead Partner Parco Nazionale del Gargano.

The GWA project was presented to the participants to explain how the GWA project is creating a context for discussing about ways and means of a collaboration between local public authorities and stakeholders with a view to associate the elements of excellence and together plan a new water sport and adventure tourism offer, in a cross-border perspective.  During the event, the GWA mobile pavilion was presented as a digital companion to visualize and plan guided water and adventure tourist itineraries in Molise.

Guardialfiera's main attraction is represented by its lake, which is an atropic structure built in 1970s for agricultural and industrial purposes. Nonetheless, for its features and for its location, the Guardialfiera lake has a great potential for the development of lacustrine tourism of a sustainable kind, especially if put into a system with the Castel San Vincenzo Lake. The event was aimed at finding grounds for a collaboration between the two municipalities and among respective tourism stakeholders.

The event saw the participation of local authorities in the persons of Mr Vincenzo Tozzi Mayor of Guardialfiera Municipality, Mr Robert Caporicci Mayor od  Provvidenti Municipality and Francesco Troli Mayor of Acquaviva Collecroce Municipality. Also, local actors participated among: the ProLoco Guardialfiera, Cofelice- Consorzio CB Molisani and Parco Avventura Guardialfiera.

All these actors helped identifying the following ideas that could help develop tourism in the area:

- creation of a map of local offer;

- valorisation and promotion of the rivers and lakes present in the area;

- promotion of the respect for and cleanliness of the lake.

- link with local traditions and food;

- improvement of cycle and pedestrian paths;

- advertise the region in extra-regional contexts;

- implementation of the tourist infrastructure;

- organisation of festivals and events;

- safeguarding archaeological and cultural sites in the area.
